Trolley

Take in Frankfort's amazing landmarks and sites on this 45 minute comprehensive historic tour with the Frankfort Trolley.  Whether you were raised in Frankfort, visiting or just passing through, you will travel through a rich narrative of history in one of the most fascinating cities in Kentucky.  Frankfort was founded in 1786 on the Kentucky River by General James Wilkinson.  In 1904, the Kentucky General Assembly chose Frankfort (rather than Lexington or Louisville) as the location for the state capital.

With increased interest in conserving our environment, the trolley provides free public transportation for our visitors, citizens and state workers to park and ride.  With the trolley, you can enjoy the sites and sounds of the capital at your own pace as you hop on and off at your favorite stops.  Enjoy the many sites and local businesses that our community has to offer!
